With the floods subsiding, the prospect of an exceptional season, record highs for mutton and lamb prices, and the wool market steadily improving, it is time to review your opportunities in sheep by getting together with your  neighbours to attend this event - please consider bringing a friend.

We recognise the difficulties you will be having repairing infrastructure and assessing losses but hope you will have time for a break and to swap stories with others around the district. We will also be providing some great lucky door prizes as an added incentive to attend.

The Sheep CRC Updates will feature Sheep CRC research results and information that can be applied on farm now, as well as highlight the Sheep CRC's new opportunities for further training and information.

The Program will cover the following topics:
  • Outlook for sheep and wool
  • Genetics - delivering permanent improvement and genetic interactions
  • Lifetime production from ewes and lambs
  • Beating the blowfly
  • Benefitting from precision sheep management
  • Targeting worms with treatments and testing
  • Nutritious high yield lambs
  • Wool you want to wear
Key speakers will include:
  • James Rowe, Deb Maxwell (Sheep CRC)
  • Hamish Chandler, Alex Ball (MLA)
  • Chris Shands (NSW I&I)
  • Guy Newell (DEEDI)
Your invitation is attached. Please RSVP by 9th April if you are planning to attend.

Please note that there is also a Sheep CRC Update being held on Wednesday, 28th April at Glen Innes.

Please feel free to forward this information to interested colleagues, friends and neighbours.
